When electricity was deregulated in Chicago, the market was flooded with independent suppliers trying to get their piece of ComEd’s pie. Spark. Think. XOOM. Source. The list was a mile long and Verde Energy was just one of the many. To stand out in the crowded field, we used humor and a pair of folks famous for their work in electricity. Through their website, newspaper ads (and by newspaper, I mostly mean the Onion), a rap video and street performances, Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Edison showed Chicagoans how they could save 10% on their energy bill, just by switching to Verde Energy.
